How to Register/Attend

The Skiff Rally’s are open to anyone who is up for a good time with other adventurous boaters. To join in on the good times you must:

  1. Meet the Vessel/Crew Requirements listed below.
  2. Read and abide by the Rally Rules listed below.
  3. Properly Register as a captain or crewmember on a captains boat.

Vessel/Crew Requirements

  • Ability to carry fuel enough for 40 mile range without fuel stop
  • Vessel must be able to travel safely at 20mph minimum
  • Carry Gear to primitively camp aboard your vessel
  • Have an anchor onboard to safely secure vessel in inclement weather
  • Onboard VHF radio required (handheld or fixed mount)
  • Working navigation and anchor lights
  • All legally required registration and safety equipment

Rally Rules

  • Safety is our first rule. Please operate your vessel in a safe manor in regards to each attendee and the public around us. 
  • Alcohol is allowed but you must be responsible. Do not operate any vessel if you are not legally able to. Do not get out of hand or be disrespectful to others.
  • Around camp, quite time is 10:00pm. Please keep noise and conversations to a mimimun after this time.

Registration & Cancelations

Registration is currently open for Patrons and opens to everyone April 17 at 5:00pm Central time.

Vessel Slots (20 total) are reserved when a captain registers themselves and their vessel. Captains can register their crewmembers at a later date. Please have everyone registered 3 weeks prior to the departure date in order to receive a free rally shirt.

Costs:

  • Captains: $147
  • Crew: $97

Cancelations are refundable up until 3 weeks prior to the particular rally. Any cancelations made after that time unfortunately are not refundable.

Once you have successfully registered, each Captain will be contacted via email on more information regarding the Rally route, plans and safety measures. As a captain, you will be responsible for relaying any important information to your crew so they will have an understanding of the how the Rally will flow.

FAQ

  • How does Registration work?
    • Each attendee much be registered as a captain or a crewmember.  The number of crewmember registrations for each vessel are up to the captains within their legal limit. More info on how to Register here.
  • What kind of water/chop does my crew/boat need to be able to handle safely?
    • Rally Routes are not set in stone. Depending on the weather and interests of the group we may find ourselves operating in larger bodies of water that have potential for chop. Each location does offer protected waters. There is always options to split the group at certain times if you feel your boat/experience isn’t ready.
    • Your vessel should be operable in 1′-2′ chop minimum.
  • Do I have to have a “skiff” to join in?
    • No, we welcome any vessel can join in as long as the vessel meets the Vessel/Crew Requirements. 
  • Where will we be leaving our vehicles/trailers?
    • We will launch from safe and secure boat ramps.
  • Where will we be camping?
    • Anchorages will be chosen at the time of the rally. We will have a variety of options to choose from. 
  • What might our days activities look like?
    • Casually cruising to the night’s campsite while checking out the sites/fishing/chilling. Expect an optional stop or two at on the water restaurants/hangouts. 
  • Is there a plan or map of our route?
    • To an extent, yes. But the plans are very flexible. Each boat will be provided with a map of our cruising plan. More info will be provided after you are registered.
  • Will I need to pay extra for vehicle launching and parking?
    • Not at this time, currently sourcing out the best launch for the group without a launch/parking fee.
  • Will there be any facilities at camp?
    • No, our campsites are completely off grid with no power/restrooms/running water.
  • Is there a maximum/minimum crew size?
    • There is not. Feel free to solo the Rally or fill your boat within the legal limits.
  • What about alcohol?
    • We must be responsible during the event. If you drink, please do not operate a vessel if you are unable to legally and safely. At camp, respect others and do not get out of hand.
  • What about cancellations and refunds?
    • Cancellations must be made 3 weeks prior to your rally in order to receive a refund.
